Subject: What a Joy to find the old history of the Catholic Church of Moniteau County
It was a great gift to find your website that mentioned the history of the Catholic Church of Tipton (Moniteau). My family immigrated from Winterscheid Germany and Siefen Germany and are of the Becker, Steimel, Kuttenker, Imhoff, Hainen lineage. I am trying to find information on the son of Conrad Becker and Caroline Weyandt, Franz Carl Becker who was a priest. I cannot find out what order who where he ministered and was hoping you could help me. He was born in 1833, immigrated around 1851 and was the brother of Katharina Becker who married Hubert William Steimel (My grandfather's grandparents). My grandpa's Dad was Hubert William, who married Louise Anna Hainen and who is buried in St Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Tipton. Do you know if there are any old history books on the parish from that time? Thanks for your help. Tammy Steimel

My parents (Bill & Helen Miller)and brother (James Marvin) are buried at Cedron. I have fond memories of Cedron and I visit often to tend to the graves. I love the new web site and it will provide me the opportunity to keep updated on the happenings.

I'm proud and happy to be the present pastor of the church in Cedron! I have been there several times in the past, but not since being appointed as pastor here in Tipton/California/Cedron. I look forward to not only seeing it again, but praying with the folks there. V. Rev. Frederick Elskamp

What a great site so far! I did not go to Cedron a lot growing up but I do remember going a few times and that was pretty special b/c it was with my grandparents Paul & Doris Imhoff. They were married there and my husband and I got married there in 2006 so it will always hold a special place in our hearts and lives. My grandfather is also buried there so I'm glad Friends of Cedron have been able to preserve the church and buildings. Thanks for setting this up!
